Habit 7 – Sharpening the Saw

I finally finished 7 Habits for Highly Effective People! The book closes with what is undoubtedly the simplest and most neglected Habit for creating a great life: Sharpening the Saw

What does “sharpening the saw” mean, exactly? The saw is your mind, body and spirit. Sharpening it means taking care of those things. Eat well. Sleep well. Move often. Take time to relax and connect with loved ones.

If you make yourself a priority, you can become be the fastest, most effective lumberjack in this crazy, mangled forest we call life.

  • Mark’s Daily Apple: Simple workouts, simple diet plan. It’s hard to master but it’s worth it.

A final word on the book: Seven Habits has changed my life for the better. I really wish I had read it sooner, but I suppose I was not ready before. Nobody hurries to pull the wool off their own eyes. This book has inspired me to be a better person. Like religious scripture, I plan to keep it handy for frequent re-reading. New Personal Goal: Some day, I will shake Stephen Covey’s hand.
